President Howard and our newest Rotarians Clair and Nick Armitage attended a Rotary event in Durham recently where they received a Community Services award for Saltburn Rotary Club's development of a celebratory Rotary mosaic. The mosaic will be placed in the heart of the town in early September.
In the words of District Governor Joy Palmer-Cooper “ This award goes to a club that has captured the true nature of Rotary in the Community. The mosaic represents a 100 years of Rotary activity and significantly demonstrates the wide range of projects and charitable causes which have benefitted both their local and wider community. What impressed me the most was the involvement of school children in the laying down of many of the mosaic tiles. This is something that they can share with their children in the years to come. Well done Saltburn Rotary Club.”
