Awards Evening at Saltburn Rotary

An awards Evening at Saltburn Rotary

Awards night at Saltburn Rotary

We were pleased to welcome a special guest to our meeting last night, our District Governor Joy Palmer-Cooper, who took the opportunity to present a number of special awards - making these the highpoint of last night's club meeting.

The first went to Rotarian Harry Simpson who was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship, recognising Harry's significant contribution to Rotary, and to the club. Harry becomes only the 12th recipient of the award in our club's 99 year history, highlighting the rare distinction that this signifies.

In addition to Harry's PH Fellowship, we were also pleased to see one of our long standing members, Don Hibbert, receive a certificate for his service, recognising that he has been part of Rotary and a stalwart of the club for 50 years.
Members and guests offered their warm congratulations to both award recipients, and we all heartily applaud their contributions to the work of Rotary !

DG Joy also gave us an overview of some of the activities going on, both in the region, nationally and internationally - Choosing the highlights being a near impossible task due to the number and range of projects that Rotary is involved in.

Her visit highlighted the fact that Saltburn Rotary Club doesn't stand alone in our efforts to be of service to the community. We're just one of 46 Rotary clubs in the North East, all supported by our district 1030 team.
