BH1 Servery Project

Servery not self at the Salvation Army BH1 Project

The Salvation Army BH1 Community Project celebrated the completion of a new servery at their centre at 107 Palmerston Road, Boscombe on 31 July 2014.  The new servery was designed, project managed and funded by Bournemouth East Cliff Rotary Club and inaugurated with the help of Major Ray Begley, and Len Doyle, the Project Manager.

Len said: We now have a really excellent facility for serving food and refreshments to the many people who use the centre each day.  The servery is brilliant thank you.  So much more ergonomically efficient!  Don't forget East Cliff Rotary also paid for one of our new settees last year.  Comfy, a doddle to clean and easy on the eye, the furniture has also improved the BH1 experience considerably.  Bravo, Bournemouth East Cliff Rotary Club.  Your efforts really are much appreciated.

East Cliff Rotary Club raised funds for the servery through various events including a sponsored Snowdon climb.  The funds raised were matched by a Rotary District grant from the International Rotary Foundation.

The Boscombe Salvation Army BH1 Project is one of our club's long established good causes which we have been supporting for several years.  The new servery is the latest in a long line of support the club has provided in recent years.

The Boscombe BH1 Project is a vibrant, supportive and friendly Open House Community Project, serving and supporting those in the local and wider community irrespective of their background.  The trained and dedicated team are helping to improve the quality of life for anyone who finds themselves in need of support, for whatever reason.  They provide a safe and friendly place with refreshments and domestic and recreational facilities; professional drop-in clinics and services; in-depth support and practical help; all alongside meaningful and fun activities.

A warm welcome is offered to anyone who would like to visit the BH1 Project, whether just to pop in for a coffee and look around, or for some comforting support or help with a personal or family problem.  Call in to 107 Palmerston Road between 10.00am and 4.00pm or visit www.boscombesalvationarmy.org.uk/images/bh1project/BH1_2014.pdf for more information.
