Once again Titsey Rotarians and their friends took to the streets to bring Christmas excitement to local children (and their parents). The net amount collected on Titsey Rotary Club’s Santa’s Sleigh Christmas Tour 2019 was £3,649. The money will be used to support charities and individuals, mostly local ones. Many thanks to everyone who donated in Hurst Green, Oxted, Old Oxted, Limpsfield and Limpsfield Chart, as well as at Clacket Lane Services. Also - many thanks to all the volunteers who helped us with our collection and to Morrisons who donated some sweets.
We are delighted to announce the profit figures from the OXTED BOOT FAIR, held on Sunday 18 August where we made a fantastic £3100, which combined with the £2500 plus made from the June event, will be used to support charities - mostly local ones, including Master Park, where the Oxted Boot Fair is held.
In June 2019 Titsey Rotary joined with other Rotarians throughout the UK and Ireland to raise money for Prostate Cancer research. Titsey Rotarians decided not to take to the roads but rather set up a static bike ride to Brighton on Master Park during the Oxted Charity Boot Fair! Six volunteer riders were sponsored, but hadn't ridden a bike for some time! They took turns to ride for about 10-15 minutes at a time, clocking up 40 miles to Brighton. Shoppers at the Boot Fair watched and donated too. At the end of the day we had raised over £900 for Prostate Cancer.
