INDUCTION OF PRESIDENT 2025/26 IAN LURCOCK

PRESIDENT IAN WITH PAST PRESIDENT SIMON

OUR NEW PRESIDENT 2025-26 IAN LURCOCK

The end of another Rotary year at Crewe and Nantwich Weaver was celebrated with an inspirational speaker followed by the recognition of service to Rotary of three Club members and the formal handover to the new Club leadership team.

Parveen Smith gave a talk on her own transformative path and the work she does with others, her background in Leicester and the discrimination she faced from an early age before she was forced to go to India where she faced further unbelievable and at times very harrowing and traumatic events as part of the cultural experiences of an arranged marriage. She talked about the severe disabilities she has endured but through all of these has come out the other side, stronger and more determined than ever. These experiences have shaped her and provided her with the resilience and strength to transform her life and help others to do the same helping others in Haiti after an earthquake, Nepal and Ukraine with more humanitarian aid.
In his last duty as President of the Club, Simon thanked the Club Officers and Members for their support in delivering a year of successes, achievements and growth and then went on to recognise the service of four Club members who have made significant contributions to the success of the Club. Past President Philip PHF was recognised with a bar for his Past President`s jewel having preceded Simon as President and carrying out the duty for the 2nd time, only the 2nd Member of the Club to have done so. Past President Maurice PHF was recognised with a memento in the Club`s 40th year as one of the 4 Founder members of the Club and Rtn. Martin PHF was awarded a sapphire to his PHF for his contribution to the public image contribution he has made to the Club over the last 5 years as Editor of the Weaver magazine. Martin`s 1st PHF had been awarded by the first Club he had been a member of.
President Simon then handed over to incoming President Ian who invited Members to recognise the leadership team for 2025/26 which consists of experienced Members but also relatively new Members with 3 or less years in membership, as he has, including President Elect Lynn, who will next year become only the 2nd female President of the Club and President Nominee Rob.

Rtn. Kate MPHF continued the tradition of recognising the retiring President with a gift in memory of her late husband PP George PHF. On this occasion the gift being a Rotary Centenary mug.

The end of a successful year and the start of a new one with a new regime bringing further evolution and change to the Club
