To celebrate Rotary’s 111th Birthday, Rotarians, Rotaractors and friends around the country joined Community Service Chairman Mukesh Malhotra, Rotarian Adrian Brewer and Vice President Eve Conway and as they walk across the 02 Dome to raise money for End Polio Now and Walk for Water. An Intrepid team of 9 of our club members completed the O2 roof walk this year and raised over £1500 for the charities involved.
The event, which took place on Rotary Day (February 23rd), involves climbing across the top of the 02, formerly the Millennium Dome, where the End Polio Now emblem was raised to celebrate the incredible efforts of Rotarians across the globe in the End Polio Now campaign, which continues to be a key priority for Rotary.
This is a great opportunity for members to celebrate Rotary’s 111th birthday by giving themselves a bit of a challenge and raising money for two great charities. It will certainly be a record for the most Rotarians to ever climb the dome at one time!”
