“Save Our Santa”

For many many years children [and adults!] in Great Missenden and its surrounding areas have welcomed the Rotary Club Christmas Float. As well as Santa bringing a smile to the faces of everyone (even in lockdown) around £100,000 has been raised for local and national good causes.

Your local Rotary Club is now seeking your help to enable this local, much-loved institution to keep going. We would like to set up a group of volunteer helpers who would work with us to undertake the following:

  1. Carry out repair and maintenance of the float from August onwards
  2. Assist with getting the float ready and ‘putting it to bed’ most evenings in December.
  3. Help with marshalling our volunteer collecting teams most evenings in December
  4. Coming up with bright ideas to make our Float an even better event

We would like to start this group in July – initially to get ideas and suggestions. We don’t expect you to volunteer for everything or every night but any support will be very welcome and we promise you will have fun and enjoy being part of this much loved tradition.

Please get in touch with us at 07730986345 or carolaperry@icloud.com  as we would really welcome your help.

We are also looking for somewhere to store the float that is easy to access and under cover. If you have a barn or other storage that might squeeze the float in, please contact us on the above number/address.
