Honorary Member Presentations

At the last business meeting of the Rotary year 2021-22, the Club unanimously agreed to award Honorary Membership to three long-serving members of the Club

John Gillespie, Harold Robson and Peter Masterman with their Honorary Member certificates

On the 1st july 2022, the Rotary Club of Newcastle upon Tyne entered a new phase in its life. Honorary Membership was awarded to Rotarians John Gillespie, Harold Robson and Peter Masterman, all of whom are Past Presidents of the Club and have served the club for many years.

John Gillespie joined the Club in 1961 and was President in the year 1972-1973; Harold Robson joined in 1977 and was President in 1999-2000 and Peter Masterman joined in 1995 and was President in 2003-4. All are Paul Harris Fellows.

John Gillespie, having already had over 60 years of active service in Rotary, is continuing as an Active Member of the Rotary North East Hub in addition to being an Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Newcastle upon Tyne.
