OUR WORK IN THE COMMUNITY

One of our objectives is to make a difference in our local community. Here are some of the things we are doing and have done in the past to fulfil this objective.

Provision of Equipment in Centres catering for children with special needs

We are aiming to raise a total of £6,000 towards the purchase of special multi sensory equipment which will make a huge difference to the lives of people attending three centres in Newcastle upon tyne and Consett. for further details select here

Support for the Scotswood Natural Community Garden

In recent years we have been pleased to be able to support the work of the Scotswood Natural Community Garden among young people in the City. Over the last five years we have provided equipment  for participants in their first Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme programme;  funded a part-time youth worker for one school term;  contributed toward the transport costs enabling two groups of young people to gain experience on sailing trips and funded a part time youth worker for a term when funding for the charity was short.

Maggies Centre Project

During his Presidential Year of 2010-11 Peter Tracey arranged a number of events to raise funds towards a new Maggies Centre to provide support for cancer sufferers in the North-East.  A Total of £4,500 was raised over the year.

Support for the Peoples Kitchen

We have supported the work of the People's Kitchen in Newcastle over many years with various donations.

Support for the Tiny Lives Fund

For two successive years, the charity that has benefitted from the proceeds of our main annual fundraising event was the Tiny Lives Fund, which provides support for the neonatal unit of the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne.
