As incoming president for Morpeth Rotary Club for 2025 - 2026, Claire Brind led the Club Assembly, outlining her plans and hopes for her presidential year. Claire has been a Rotarian for 25 years, the last 6 being at Morpeth. She has always appreciated how Rotarians are willing to take up challenges to support communities at home and overseas, at the same time having fun and strengthening friendships. Morpeth has gained 14 new members in 4 years - a good achievement.
Committee chairs then described their thoughts about initiatives in the forthcoming year, some new and some building on past successes. All emphasised the need for involvement of club members.
District Governor Joy Palmer Cooper (a member of Alnwick Rotary Club) reviewed her busy year, which included 66 visits across our district, and countrywide visits in her role as a member of the Board of Rotary International in Britain and Ireland and representing District Governors. She considers Morpeth Rotary Club to be outstanding, and spoke of the need to inspire new projects and increase membership.
