DetailsMorpeth Rotary are people of action who make a difference in our community.
We offer support and raise monies for both local and international charities and communities.
Some of our recent projects include WRAP UP – we liaised with local businesses and schools in our Town to collect old or unworn winter coats and then distribute them to through local charities,
Our Tree of Light in Sanderson Arcade raises thousands of pounds each year. We celebrated the 10th anniversary this year and Rotarian Rhona Dunn who started the project when she was President invited the Duchess of Northumberland to officially open the tree along with students from St Roberts who sang Christmas carols. Over the years we are delighted to announce we have raised over £30,000 for worthwhile charities – here are a few, Calmer Therapy, Stobhill Link, Barnabus Safe and Sound, Tiny Lives, Morpeth Contact Group and Great North East Air Ambulance.
We have involved the middle and high schools in our Youth Competitions. This year the theme was ‘Wonderful Water’ and we had entries for Young Artist, Young Photographer and Young writer. The quality of entries was very good with one being selected by District and going onto the National final.
