MORPETH AND WHITLEY BAY ROTARY INDOOR GAMES EVENING
A full, active and brain testing winter indoor games evening was held in November at Morpeth Golf Club in a contest of individual mental challenge and luck for members and friends of Morpeth and Whitley Bay Rotary Clubs. Whitley Bay President Roger and Vice President John were in the visiting party. Most games were well known but every contestant found at least one they had never played before. There was carpet bowls, dominoes, a version of crazy golf, marbles, pin ball - sometimes known as bagatelle, shut the box and whist. The most dangerous was marbles, with missiles firing in all directions, while crazy golf had its frightening moments. The points scored differed with each game and the method for sorting winners was the principal challenge. It was eventually established that the winner was from Whitley Bay. It was a long session with the cleaners for the next day coming in before everything was over, but enjoyable fellowship and entertainment. Thanks to Julie Mulqueen for organising the epic logistics.
