GODALMING ROTARY CLUB CELEBRATES 90TH ANNIVERSARY
On Saturday 12th September, Godalming Rotary Club celebrated its 90th anniversary with a gala dinner at the WSGC.
The special evening brought together club members, Rotarians from several other local clubs, and a group of guests from our French twin club in Aire-sur-la-Lys, who had travelled over especially for the occasion. We were also delighted to welcome the Mayors of Godalming Town and Waverley Borough as our guests of honour.
The celebrations began with pre-dinner drinks accompanied by a talented violinist, while a magician entertained guests after the meal. The combination of good company, great entertainment and a milestone worth celebrating created a wonderful party atmosphere throughout the evening.
The WSGC provided a delicious menu for the packed venue, which had been elegantly decorated with pennants from hundreds of Rotary clubs around the world that have either welcomed Godalming Rotarians or been visited by club members over the years.
It was a fitting and memorable way to celebrate 90 years of friendship, fellowship and service — and to look forward to the next chapter in the history of Godalming Rotary Club.
