Two Away Days – May 2026

As announced by Admin Team Leader Paul Wiley at lunch on Monday a provisional booking has been made for away days as above.

This smallish hotel is just outside the town centre about 4 minutes walk from the Conference Centre. There are good reports of the hotel which has been used for decades as the Monday lunch venue for Harrogate Rotary Club. There is a lounge/bar/

• Rotarians wishing to go are asked to book through Admin Team by the end of August.

• If you are not certain enough to book but are interested please let us know so we can judge room requirements for possibly booking later

Room Categories

Ascot House Hotel has 19 rooms over Ground, First and Second floors. There is no lift.

These can be viewed on the Ascot Hose website athttps://www.ascothouse.com/

We have reserved 12 but this can be reviewed.

• “Cosy Double ” We have reserved 4 Cosy Double rooms (of 6). These are small.

• “Classic Double” We have reserved 6 Classic Double rooms (all of 6).

• “Single Rooms” We have reserved 2 Single rooms (of 3).

We have not reserved any of the 4 individual layout Second Floor rooms which are larger and more expensive. For any Rotarian wanting one of these (see website) prices are awaited. If interested please contact Admin Team (Roger or Margaret)

On the Ground Floor are 3 Classic and one Cosy of the reserved rooms. We suggest that anyone with stair climbing issues should have preference. Otherwise, earliest bookings should get better rooms where there is any room difference.

Prices for 2 Nights Bed and Breakfast are as follows:-

Single Room ( one person ) £130

Cosy Double ( one Person) £172

Cosy Double (two persons) £192

Classic Double (two persons) £222

Dinner (pre-ordered for the group) is available each night at £35 (2 courses) or £38 (3 courses). Sample 2025 menu is attached. The menu and price may change.

Deposit and Payment Dates

Ascot House have given us a very good group discount and expect us to administer the list of individuals in our group attending the days away. Admin team do this on your behalf but it is the individuals who are the customers of the hotel and payments of deposits, room charges, extras etc are made directly to the hotel. Admin must remind late payers.

• Deposit 25%

The 25% Deposit is due to be paid by 16^th January 2026.

• Full balance of Room Charges

The balance of the room charges is payable one month before attendingso 27^th April 2026

Note:- Deposits etc are not refundable but names can be substituted if one Rotarian drops out while another wishes to be added.

• Charges for dinners etc are presumably payable on the day.

Margaret and Roger will jointly keep a record of requests and in liaison with Ascot House Hotel sort out the reservation of rooms in accordance with requests.
