The Royal Navy Presentation Team is a small team of Officers, Sailors and Royal Marines who tour the country talking to the general public about the role and the importance of the Royal Navy. In the last year the team has briefed audiences ranging from U3As, WIs and Rotary Clubs to business leaders and Members of Parliament.
The team will explain how the Navy is organized into six fighting arms, each with a distinct role to play. It will then explain why the UK needs the Royal Navy: the importance of credible defence, how the Navy promotes and protects our interests abroad, and ensuring that the world’s sea trading routes are kept open.
The presentation will then go on to cover how the Royal Navy operates, either as individual units or collectively in what is known as a Task Group. The team will then take you through the different types of operations and where the Navy is currently operating around the globe.
The Navy’s people are the single most important factor from where the strength and flexibility of the Royal Navy is derived, and you will hear about how we underpin our commitment to our people with an enduring set of standards, values, customs and traditions. Finally, the team will take a brief look into what the future holds for the Royal Navy.
At the end of the 40 minute presentation, which can be tailored to meet specific needs, there will be the opportunity to ask questions of the team, all of whom have had recent frontline experience.
