The best speakers that we have at club lunches really know their subject but the best of the best are those who speak with passion. On Thursday 10th August Our speaker Pat Haynes who talked about the NSPCC Childline demonstrated both of those qualities as she explained the very many types of abuse that blight the lives of so many youngsters. Pat drew upon her years of experience in education and her anecdotal stories were most interesting. It may not be possible to totally rid the world of such wicked people and help every abused child but if through the work of the the NSPCC Childline just some victims can be saved then all the hard work of people like Pat would have been worth it. Long may they continue the good work.
