The President's Project
On Thursday the 15th. December 2016 the meeting of the Rotary Club of Hornchurch and Upminster was held at the Masonic Hall in Deyncourt Gardens Upminster and was a very special meeting well attended by Rotarians and guests. The reason for this special meeting was to present cheques to the two children's hospices chosen by President Kochummen John for his President's Project. Rachel Green, the Community and Events fundraiser for Richard House, together with Community Fundraiser Matt Charlton representing Haven House each received a cheque for £4,550 for their charities and both said a few words to explain the wonderful work they do and share with us some inspirational stories. Unfortunately Mayor Phillippa Crowder was unwell but her consort Counsellor and Rotarian John Crowder was on hand together with our most senior Rotarian Ron Geggus to pass on the cheques to Rachel and Matt. President John thanked the members of the club for their hard work and support declared that this day was an historic day in the life of the Rotary Club of Hornchurch and Upminster.
