At the back end of 2010 the Inter Club Group met to talk about, among other things, how the three clubs might organize an event to mark Rotary Awareness Week. We decided that the event should concentrate on the things that RI and Rotary GB&I are promoting at this time, namely the Purple Pinkie campaign and the Polio Eradication campaign. As we were kicking around ideas we picked up on the Indian Night that the Romford club had held earlier in the year. As we further discussed the idea we decided that as India was one of the few countries that still have polio that we would build our event around an Indian meal with the entertainment, and in this way we could call upon the experience of Dianne Thomson from Romford club.
