London 2 Brighton Cycle Ride in aid of Diabetes UK
In September this year Rotarian Tony Sale completed the London to Brighton cycle ride in an effort to raise money for Diabetes UK, one of the designated charities of club president Keith Brownlie. Tony who only took up cycling this year was delighted to complete the 54 mile challenge and in particular was pleased to have conquered the renowned Ditchling Beacon a long steep climb over the South Downs before the descent into Brighton.
He raised a total of £550 for the charity which was handed over to local diabetes nurse Karen Balaam. Karen was impressed with Tony’s efforts and encouraged others to remain active, “Getting active and staying active Helps with emotional and physical wellbeing as well as helping with control of both Type1 and Type 2 diabetes, it also helps reduce complications of diabetes
