A whole weekend of metal detecting fun whilst raising funds for Rotary and other charities.
Metal Detecting – Fund Raising Event
Halstead Rotarian Jim Crayston recently ran a fund raising event with a difference. Jim a local farmer from Pebmarsh hosted a metal detecting weekend on his farm. The event ran from the Friday afternoon through to the Sunday afternoon with many attendees camping out on what turned out to be a glorious weekend. There were around 70 – 80 people in attendance with many travelling some distance to be there, Derby, Cornwall and even Holland and Croatia, two great days of detecting fun.
There were a number of interesting finds ranging from, silver coins, broaches, clasps and buttons. Proceeds from the weekend were split between the metal detecting organisation, Pebmarsh Church and Halstead Rotary with the club receiving a cheque for £650.
