Una Peregina - Camino de Santiago
At a recent meeting members and guests of the Rotary Club of Halstead were pleased to welcome Peregrina (Pilgrim) Sarah Knight to their meeting. Sarah gave an enthralling presentation about her experiences when walking the Camino Frances from St-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France heading towards Santiago de Compostela.
She started her journey, both spiritually and physically, in August of last year and after passing through the famous places like Roncesvalles, Pamplona and Burgos and staying overnight in various albergue (hostels for pilgrims) of variable quality she finally arrived in Leon. It was here she decided not to go on to Santiago, but to catch a train to Oviedo and to join the Camino del Norte and walk back towards San Sebastian. Our thanks go to Sarah for sharing her experience of the Camino.
There are some photos here of Sarah giving her talk and also some together with President Mike Prince who also completed the walk a number of years ago, the last four images were taken by Mike on that occasion.
