Cheques presented to Charities

Held on Sunday 10 May 2026

Presidents from the four Rotary Clubs in Colchester joined St Helena Hospice and MS-UK today to present each charity with a cheque for £10,000. The total of £20,000 was raised through the Rotary in Colchester 10k Race.

Standing: Jill Purcell (MS-UK Fund Raising Manager), James Lambert (Rotary Colchester Forum), Matthew Swan (Rotary Colchester Camulos), Richard Peile (The Rotary Club of Colchester), Fiona Bodmer (The Rotary Club of Colchester)

Seated: Lucy King (MS-UK Senior Community Fund Raiser), Jackie Bowis (Rotary Colchester Centurion), Alison Gray (St Helena Hospice, Director of Care).

The race took place on Sunday 10 May 2026 and attracted a record number of entries, with more than 1,200 runners taking part. This outstanding support enabled us to double the amount donated to charity, from the previous year.

Thank you to all the runners who took part. Without your support and participation, we could not make this charitable contribution. The event is organised by the four Rotary Clubs in Colchester and supported by their members and many other volunteers.

Thank you to everyone involved for making it such a success and in particular Race Director Allistair Hunter, for all his hard work.

Much of the financial success is due to the local businesses which provided funds or services This year’s sponsors are:

  • · Bespoke Carpentry
  • · Colchester Travel
  • · Collier and Catchpole
  • · DS Group
  • · Fiducia Asset Management
  • · Hatfields Furniture Stores
