Rotary in Colchester 10K Run

to be held on Sunday 10 May 2026

To be held on Sunday 10 May 2026

The popular, annual Colchester 10k Race is organised by “Rotary in Colchester” – a partnership of the town’s 3 Rotary Service Clubs. It runs on the second Sunday in May and is a well established local race.

As always, the race starts and finishes at Abbey Field, a large open grass area, just south of the town centre, with ample free car parking on the field. Toilets and unsupervised bag drop are available.

The race starts promptly at 10:30 on the level Circular Road North and continues on pavements and tracks around the garrison area. Most of the course is level, with some gentle slopes near the finish. There are two intermediate water stations. Road crossings are properly marshalled by volunteers or Council staff. The finish is on the running track.

The Race is run under the auspices of UKA, with an appointed adjudicator and starter and certificated distance, enabling personal times to be submitted. A qualified first aid team, with specialist vehicles is in attendance.

Many runners enter every year for this enjoyable community event. Some will be representing athletic and running clubs, others come from Park runs, groups of friends or as individuals. Rotary in Colchester promotes the event to athletic and running clubs across East Anglia and welcomes new entrants.
