Rotary Young Artist 2025

A competition through schools for the Rotary Young Artist of the year

The Rotary Club of Colchester are delighted to report that the Club had 290 entries for the Rotary Young Artist competition this year - not quite as many as last year, but the standard for the theme 'Happiness in Nature' was very high and there was an enormous range of interpretations.

83 entrants got through to the finals and attended the "awards afternoon" at Christ Church. Different mediums were presented this year, photographic collages, water colour, pencil and ink and felting - the entry that won overall.

The winning entries came from :

Key Stage 1:             Lawrence Cuthill-Trafford from Hamilton School

Juniors (7-10)            Sophie Leighton Cardos Hamilton School

Intermediate (11-14)  Charlotte Pang  Gilberd School

Seniors (14-17)         Ted Sleigh  Colchester Royal Grammar School

The overall winner was Ted Sleigh who receives the Ann Holmes Cup for his school to keep for a year.

The winning entries  are all now sent up to The Rotary District for further judging.  Last year one of the entry made it to third place nationally.
