Rotary Foundation is the Rotary charity that supports a huge range of activities worldwide. Rated as one of the most efficient charities, with 91% of its funds going to programme awards and operations, it has disbursed over $4 billion in the 100 years of its existence. Perhaps the most important has been its support for polio eradication, together with the Bill Gates Foundation, to which Rotary has given over $2 billion in the past 30 years.
The Foundation is mainly funded by contributions and fund raising by individual Rotarians. The Rotary Club of Colchester contributed over £8,300 in the past year.
