Young Artist & Young Writer competitions 2026
The entries need to be submitted by the week beginning Monday 3rd November and the awards afternoons will be Friday 20th November for Young Artist and Friday 27th November for Young Writer.
The Rotary Club of Colchester is delighted to announce that it will be running the Rotary Young Artist and Young Writer competitions again this year. This follows the success last year of our local winners at Rotary District level, particularly Ted Sleigh from Colchester Royal Grammar School who went on to National level in the Senior Art category and came third in his section.
This year, rather than running the two competitions over two terms we are running them side by side in the Autumn term. Hopefully this will be better for schools who can send out information for both competitions at the same time.
The entries will need to be collected in by us week beginning Monday 3rd November and the awards afternoons will be Friday 20th November for Young Artist and Friday 27th November for Young Writer.
The overall winner from each competition will be presented with the Rotary Cup for their school to hold for a year. Every entrant receives a certificate and winners and runners up in each category and section win prizes in addition.
The rules and regulations and entry forms for both competitions are shown below. Please particularly the new regulations about the use of AI for both Art and Writing.
Many pupils entering via their school. But pupils can also enter individually if their school is not participating.
