The Rotary Club of Colchester, in collaboration with The Sixth Form College, Colchester, and its students has funded a new modern “wellbeing area” in the College campus. It is proven that this type of environment can contribute to student wellbeing by offering a space to relax and socialise between lessons.
The area consists of sustainable seating made from re-cycled materials, large canopy umbrellas and planters with a variety of plants. It also includes a number of display cabinets which will contain set art-work.
The student council have named the area “The Olive Court” which has a Roman connotation reflecting the rich history of the site.
The space was officially opened on Friday 22nd May with College Staff, students and Members of the Rotary Club of Colchester in attendance.
