21 extremely talented young musicians competed in November 2024 in Blairgowrie High School, in the Blairgowrie and District heat of the Rotary Young Musician competition. Vocalists and instrumentalists, including bagpipers, were judged by oboist and conductor Geoffrey Bridge and opera singer and teacher Anne-Marie Ives, who both have long and distinguished performing and teaching careers. All competitors received certificates from Rotary President Ian Smith. The overall winners - vocalist Dylan Wallace and cellist Mika Wereszynski - go through to the Rotary District Final in Dundee in February. The competition was organised by Rotarians David Cuthill and Sheila Philps, and BHS Principal Teacher of Performing Arts Emma Harvey.
