Eleven of us met for this informal meeting at the Côte Brasserie at High Chelmer, a return visit.
President Graham, who organised this visit, told us we didn’t need to book, so we didn’t really know how many would turn up until the day. We didn’t order our food in advance either, so that may have been one of the reasons we had a long wait before we were served. Admittedly, the restaurant was fairly full. The fact that we hadn’t agreed how many courses we would each order didn’t help. For future visits we may have to agree that either we will all have a starter and the main course or the main course and a dessert. We were among the first to try Côte’s new menu. Many of us chose a la carte, which could work out quite pricey if one didn’t keep an eye on the prices. (OK. I ’ll admit I was the one surprised by the size of my bill at the end. Webmaster)
Nevertheless we had a very relaxed and convivial meeting.
