Galleywood Common walk

Wed, Aug 31st 2022 at 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Members and spouses walked around Galleywood Common.

It was originally intended that our walk on 31 August 2022 be based on Mill Green (hence the photograph above). Unfortunately this did not prove practical so organiser Jenny Black switched the venue to Galleywood Common.

A group of peopleA small group of members and spouses gathered there in the morning for a very pleasant walk. Jenny had done a lot of research on the area and was able to describe the history of many places they passed on the walk.

Three of the walkers (who had better remain nameless) managed to get separated from the group. Jenny organised a search for them, which meant they rejoined the group well in time to enjoy the lunch at the Running Mare.
