The members of the 2022-23 Club Council hand over to their successors
Today’s meeting was opened by 2022-23 President Mo, who welcomed Honorary Member and Past President Brian Collings to the meeting and thanked members for their support during his own Presidential year before handing the chain of office to 2023-24 President Francis and wishing him a successful time in office.
President Francis then thanked Immediate Past President Mo, congratulated him on his year in office and handed him his Past President’s badge and jewel. He set out his hopes for the year ahead. Foremost among those was an increase in membership. He said he would dearly like to see next year’s Handover Meeting attended by 40 rather than the 14 present today. (Our current membership is 24.)
He reminded members that next week’s meeting will be devoted to a discussion of the programme for this Rotary year, particularly arrangements for the third Thursdays of each month.
