Today we held our Club Assembly, when the incoming President and Committees presented their plans for the year ahead.

Next Rotary year’s President, 1st Vice President Francis Whitbread, said he wished:

  • to begin increasing our membership, to give us a vibrant and thriving Club when we reach our centenary in 2027;
  • to build up a network of “Friends of Rotary”;
  • to establish a meeting structure that will be attractive to both new and existing members;
  • to make the Club less formal;
  • to continue and expand the projects the Club is already involved with and identify new ones, both locally and globally; and
  • to maintain and enhance the excellent fellowship and friendship we enjoy within our Club.

In his comments Assistant District Governor Tony Stringer praised the Club for the successful projects it had and was undertaking. He mentioned that the Joint Presidents’ Meetings of the five Chelmsford Clubs had been restarted and looked forward to the Chelmsford Clubs forging close links with the Rotary Club of Danbury and Villages, the Rotary Club of Ingatestone and the three Clubs in Billericay.
