Our last business meeting of the Rotary year

Club logo

Because of the Jubilee celebrations we held this meeting on Wednesday, 1 June, instead of the following day. We approved the minutes of the previous meeting and received reports from the Treasurer and our Committees.

A clipboard with a large red tick over itOur 100 Club for this year will start in July. £480 has already been received from members for tickets. (The 100 Club prizes are drawn over several meetings. Half the ticket money is used for the prizes and half for charity.) The students of Thriftwood School will donate to the Club the money they collected in memory of the late John Scammell.

Club members enjoyed the visit to Beeleigh Abbey in May. A visit to Ingatestone Hall has been scheduled for 21 June.

Although we are recruiting new members unfortunately this year new members have been outnumbered by those we have lost through death. Some members are no longer able to attend.

The Chair of our Foundation & International Committee recently attended a meeting of Ukrainian refugees and their hosts at Broomfield Community Centre. An assessment of their needs has been carried out and he has applied for a District Grant.

The RGB&I Compliance Statements and Policies have been adopted by the Club Council. We are seeking a volunteer for the post of Safeguarding and Compliance Officer.
