A triumphant Peter Greene returned to the club from the National Rotary Conference in Torquay, bearing the trophy for the best Club Bulletin in Great Britain and Ireland.
Understandably delighted, he said “This is a tribute to the hard work and expertise of our editor, Trevor Bond, without whose journalistic experience and ability to talk and write journalese, we wouldn’t have the success we enjoy. To win the award once is a tribute to Trevor’s abilities, but to win it two years in a row is an outstanding achievement”.
Trevor was presented with the Trophy and the Award Certificate in front of the whole club, to great applause.
Trevor reacted by saying how delighted he was to receive the award again. In typical modest manner, he thanked Peter for his expertise in putting the newsletter together, and Malcolm and Tom Acors for their continual support in printing the Newsletter month after month.
“I know I do the final editing of the articles,” he said, “but none of this would be possible without the support of club members who write the initial articles, or provide input to me to write them. It is a truly whole club endeavour and I am proud to be associated with it. Thank you all”
