The District Finals of the 2013 Young Chef of the Year competition took place at a well-supported event at Chelmsford College on February 9th, 2013.
The winner of our club's Billericay Young Chef Competition,14 year old James Whitehead, surpassed himself by overcoming some stiff competition to win the contest and be crowned the District Young Chef of the Year.

James has since gone on to compete in the Regional Finals in Suffolk on 16th. March, where his dishes were praised by the Judges who said that there was very little to choose between all the competitors.
James came 6th. after facing very strong competition.
