The Jean Scott Garden

Past member Jean Scott left a legacy of £1,000 for the Club to use for helping young people. We used it to help to create a fruit and vegetable garden in Hillhead Primary School

When our wonderful member Jean Scott died, she left a legacy of £1,000 to the Club, to be used for a project to benefit children.  We used it to create a useful garden in Hillhead Primary School.

After just one year the garden has proved to be a great success in attracting the interest of the children, and it has yielded an excellent harvest of fruit and vegetables.  Next year they intend to purchase cooking utensils to prepare meals from the garden's produce.
