International Appalachian Trail

Along with the Rotary Club of Gourock, Allander are responsible for the Clyde Coastal Path (Kelly Burn to Milngavie) which forms part of the Firth o Clyde Rotary Trail (Mull of Galloway to Milngavie) which is part of the International Appalachian Trail.


The International Appalachian Trail (IAT), on this side of the Atlantic, starts in Kerry, crosses Ireland, Scotland and Norway to end at Nord Cap in the extreme north of Norway.

The various parts of the IAT (Scotland) are:

- Cape Wrath Trail
- Great Glen Way
- West Highland Way
- Firth o Clyde Rotary Trail                    http://www.focrt.org
    - Clyde Coastal Path (incorporating the Thomas Wood Path)
    - Ayrshire Coastal Path
    - Mull of Galloway Trail (incorporating the Loch Ryan Trail)

The Rotary Clubs of Gourock and Allander are creating the Clyde Coastal Path. The route is now determined.

Allander are looking after the section from the Erskine Bridge to Milngavie. The current status and progress are available on the website listed above.
