Derby Rotary Satellite Community Allotment
A community allotment set up to grow produce for local food banks.
We are really pleased to announce that we have acquired a lovely allotment plot that we are looking to develop into a Community Allotment. This is a great opportunity for the club to offer service in the community. "Service" is what Rotary calls the opportunities for members to volunteer to support the community.
This is a project that will engage with our Rotary members, their families, our volunteers (See our "Friends of Derby Volunteers" page), local community groups and our supported charities.
Our aim is to grow produce that we can then donate to local food banks. The plot has been vacant for a while so we have our work cut out, we have some wonderful support from members of the Rotary Club of Derby and from colleagues from local charity, Safe and Sound.and we are so excited to get started.
