Rotary Satellites are a way that busy people, who find it difficult to attend regular weekly meetings, could become part of Rotary with a lot more flexibility. Our Satellite, although fairly small, with only eight members, has done some amazing work, not only with their own projects but also helping our events and projects and supporting other clubs too. It really is about supporting what you can, with no pressure to join in with everything.
We now meet online for our business meetings but we have introduced regular social meetings where we can get together as a team and a group of friends. We welcome guests so please do get in touch, their is no obligation to be a member.
Here is an example of what we get up to:
and much more.
In 2018/2019 we raised £2800 for our chosen charities with £100 each going to Annabel's Angels and Dogs For Good and £800 for Rotary Foundation.
This year's chosen charities are Safe & Sound and the Storehouse Project at Ozzy Road Church, due to the Covid-19 pandemic many of our fundraisers had to be postponed. We have therefore decided that we will continue to support these charities for a further year.
more Our Satellite worked with Rotary Club of Derby South and Rotary Club of Derby Daybreak on an amazing Classic and Heritage Vehicle Show at Carsington Water and it was a great sell-out event.
more We welcomed two new members and presented cheques to our chosen charities at a fun social evening at The Shed at Darley Abbey Mills.
more A community allotment set up to grow produce for local food banks.
more On Friday 13th November 2020 Derby Rotary Satellite held a Murder Mystery Event online
more On 31st July 2020, our Satellite held an online Charity Race Night in aid of Safe and Sound, a local charity supporting children and young people at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation.
