Just before Peter Hurlstone finally bowed out as President of the Rotary Club of Wednesfield.

 He  made a presentation to two club members saying:-

"Fellow Rotarians and Guests", before we proceed with the Induction, I have one remaining duty to perform, which I was unable to carry out last week.

Many Rotary Clubs may never have had a member who is interested in overseas aid and who is prepared to give up their holidays with sweat and tears, to serve that cause.

The Wednesfield Club is doubly blessed, as we have Club Member Helen Perkins and her close friend and Honorary Member, Jenny Brett, both of whom are deeply committed and have given extremely valuable service to a number of overseas projects.

In 2000 the club met Helen when we proposed her to a Rotary Group Study Exchange student in Tennessee, USA.

In 2001, Helen & Jenny cycled in Beijing Province, China, as part of a group of 77 cyclists, each covering some 300 miles over 5 days, and between the group, raising a staggering
