* Investing in 'Ready Steady Read' projects in three local schools giving assistance to pupils with reading difficulties - and achieving remarkable results.
* Maintaining our Rotary Well (see above) in the Town Centre which acts as a resting place for shoppers and others.
* Organising a community event (normally) each year in Tiverton.The 2025 event was in the Rugby Union Ground and included a Family Dog Show plus plenty of music and other attractions. as well as lots to eat and drink. The 2026 event is still to be planned.
* Building and staffing a Christmas Grotto in the Market when Santa Claus hands out presents to around 400 local children. Funds raised go to local charities.
* Supporting our Interact Club at Tiverton High School where pupil Interactors get involved in fundraising and projects both in the school and locally.
* Supporting and fundraising for ShelterBox, the disaster charity in Cornwall which was founded by a Rotarian.
* Sponsoring a young adult at Kira Farm in Uganda which helps to forge a career for those who would otherwise have no quality of life.
* Raising funds for Kira Farm via our Annual Quiz which for 2026 will be in September or October and will be announced in due course.
* Helping with the Mid Devon Messenger the talking newspaper for the visually impaired and those unable to read.
* Warm Places - providing tea/coffee plus refreshments at Tiverton Library once a week primarily to help those who find it difficult to maitain a warm home.
* Raising funds for local charities. One of those is the Churches Housing Action Team (CHAT) which caters for the homeless and provides food for the needy.
* Supporting the Rotary International and World Health Organisation drive to eliminate polio from the world - we're almost there!
* Assisting sister Clubs in Exmoor and Exe Valley in the annual Exmoor Challenge (a 16 mile hike for youngsters on the moor) . .
* Assisting Uplift, the Tiverton pre-school charity, with financial and practical help including serving on their committee.
* Planting new trees to put something back into our local environment.
* We ask local primary schools to nominate a "Unsung Hero" (a pupil who may not be in the forefront of examination results or sporting achievements but who contributes to the life of the school and fellow pupils in a real and caring way). We then make an award to that pupil at a school assembly.
