Purple4Polio Campaign

With polio eradication now closer than ever, and The Rotary Foundation about to celebrate its centenary year, Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland is launching it’s new campaign; Purple4Polio.

We are encouraging all members, clubs and districts to think about how they could get involved and hold events in their communities. Why not check out the Purple4Polio ideas menu to give you some inspiration, it covers everything from illuminating local buildings in purple to holding a purple cake sale, as well as getting involved in Rotary’s latest partnership with The Royal Horticultural Society.

Rotary and the Royal Horticultural Society

Rotary and RHS Partnership Logo

As part of the Purple4Polio campaign, we’re encouraging people to get their green fingers at the ready as Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland partners with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) to take part in mass purple crocus planting.

The purple crocus is a symbol of Rotary’s worldwide campaign to eradicate polio, with its colour representing the purple dye used to colour in the finger of a child who has been immunised.
