Darwen’s local volunteer committee for Cancer Research UK has reached its three quarters of a million pounds fundraising milestone. The committee was set up in 1959 by Darwen Rotary Club and president Mark Graham and other Rotary representatives were at the unveiling of a plaque at Darwen Town Hall to mark the event. Mark is seen front right with some of the committee and its chairman Linda Chatburn, wife of Rotarian Roy Chatburn, holding the plaque which is being installed on the wall behind the reception desk at the Town Hall for local people to see
