Young Chef - AGS
Appleby Rotary Club held it’s first Young Chef Competition in conjunction with Appleby Grammar School on Thursday 7th December. The ten participating pupils were to set a display table of two place settings then to prepare in two hours a three course healthy meal comprising starter, main course and dessert for two people costing less than £15. Judging took place throughout the whole process including tasting the final results.
Mrs Catherine Benson, Curriculum Leader Design Technology, said she was delighted with the quality and inventiveness of the meals produced particularly as the pupils had not sought any guidance from their teachers in their planning or preparation.
Ultimately the judges chose Paddy Robinson the winner with Holly Dodgson and Hollie Bousefield second and third respectively.
The winner goes forward to the Rotary District stage of the Competition to be held in Ulverston on 25th January 2018.
