Club Meeting

On Thursday 14^th Sep  we held our “RYLA Presentation” evening at which Noah Ibbetson and Abbie Morrison reported to Club Members on their respective weeks of challenges and training at Barcaple, Dumfries and Galloway. We were joined by Alastair Mackie, our District Organiser for RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards), and by two of the girls’ mentors Dawn Robertson and Moira Wilson, as well as Abbie’s father Kenny.

Both “Rylarians” gave excellent presentations about their activities at the centre and the challenge of working as part of a team with people they had only just met. Noah loved the whole event and came home with arenewed interest in climbing. Abbie made a lot of new friends and was awarded the John Mair Trophy as the person whom her peers agreed gained most from the course.

Norman Watson presented photos and certificates to Noah and Abbie, and Dawn Robertson presented Abbie with the John Mair Trophy.

Past District Governor David Buchanan was awarded  a certificate in recognition of over Thirty Years Service as a member of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry.
