On Thursday 14th July at Conifox Bistro, President Sandy Mackenzie and his team gave a calendar account of the projects and events the club was aiming to achieve in Rotary Year July 2022 - June 2023. The programme included the Junior Golf Final at Kingsfield, involvement in the Ferry Fair and a Walking Quiz in August; QCCC Golf Day at Dundas and Young Writer competition in September; planting crocus bulbs for Rotary Foundation and End Polio Now and the District Conference at Peebles in October; Remembrance Sunday and participation in the Christmas Lights Switch-on in November and Santa's Sleigh fundraising in December. January 2023 would start with a Formal Night and include a Burns Supper; February would see the Young Musician and Young Vocalist competitions and the club would celebrate Rotary Day; the Young Technologist Competition and Primary School Quiz series would take place in March and the Rotary Photographic Competition is scheduled for April. It is hoped to hold the Community Fete, which was so successful in bringing together Queensferry's voluntary organisations this year, in June 2023. The club will also participate in Kirkliston Gala in June next year. President Sandy said that the aim of his team was to continue the community environmental projects which had been so effective last Rotary Year and that the programme offered plenty scope for members to become involved and have fun.
Gerald Smith then the second half of Immediate Past President Derek Clark's year in pictures, including the presidential handover. Many thanks to Gerald for his splendid visual record of Rotary South Queensferry's activities.
