President Derek Clark welcomed members and guests of Rotary South Queensferry to a Zoom meeting on Thursday 12th May. As is customary with new members, Helen Tulloch, who recently joined the club, gave an introductory talk about her background and career. Helen, who has two sons and six grandchildren, began her working career in the oil industry in the late nineteen-sixties. She worked with mainly American offshore crews on Amoco / BP Sea Quest drilling platforms in 1968. Helen went on to join Schlumberger as drilling went on in the Forties Field. From 1972 to 1990 she took time out to bring up her family. A complete change of direction followed when she started a company called Highland Cuisine which produced hand made foods. Returning to the oil and gas industry, Helen held several positions including working at the Mc Dermott Yard at Baku in Azerbaijan. She also became Scottish Manager for EIC (Energy Industries Council) and Chief Executive of ITF, an industry technology facilitator. Helen gave an excellent presentation and members were amazed at the amount of work she has accomplished. Helen said she was delighted at having joined Rotary and had received a very warm welcome to the club.
