On Thursday 25th November, one month before the big day, Santa and his eight Rotary helpers made their first appearance of the year. Santa and his sleigh travelled from Scotmid along Queensferry High Street, brightening up the event which, owing to covid, was again low-key. Christmas in Queensferry screened the switch-on online to a wide audience. Santa arrived in front of the Burgh Chambers to great excitement accompanied by Queensferry Community Brass Band. The newly decorated sleigh, bedecked with dazzling lights was a wonderful sight. Santa, on fine form, thanked the local volunteers for their hard work and wished everyone a Merry Christmas. He then pressed the switch for the Christmas lights which instantly brightened up the whole High Street. What a cheery, festive occasion.
