Club Meeting

On Thursday 14th October, members of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry enjoyed a transatlantic Zoom presentation by Jeffry Cadorette. Jeffry has spent most of his career as a physical therapist and spoke from Media, Pennsylvania, where he has been involved in Rotary for many years. He was a Rotary International Director from 2018 to 2020 and has served as a committee member and as a delegate on the Council of Legislation. Jeffry was also International Training Leader, seminar leader and president's representative as well as worldwide Rotary Foundation Alumni Co-ordinator from 2010 to 2011. The theme of his wide-ranging talk was what Rotary would look like after Covid, the challenges that lay ahead and how the pandemic had forced Rotary to rethink the way it could best serve worldwide needs. Jeffry believed this was now the perfect time to make changes; to look back at previous Rotary traditions with respect but to look forward to the new  post-covid role of Rotary, new structures and new ways to communicate with our communities.

Jeffry's thought-provoking talk attracted guests from USA, Argentina, and Canada. Closer to home, the meeting was joined by Rotarians from East Sutherland and Inverness. The presence of many guests of Queensferry Club member Gordon McInally, Rotary International President nominee for 2023-24, made for a thoroughly international evening. The speaker was introduced by Neil McKinlay. Alan Brown proposed the vote of thanks.
