Youth Service

Youth Service team promote the Rotary Competitions and Programmes with the local Schools and Youth Organisations in our area.

The programmes that we are involved with include:

RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) 14-18yrs.

This is a Leadership development programme run by Rotary for young adults which helps them discover their potential and develop their skills needed to be a leader in their Community, Career and everyday life.  The programme is a Residential week at an Outbound Centre and is funded by the Rotary Club.

Young Golfer

In partnership with the Junior Golfers at Dundas Parks Golf Club we run an annual golf competition. The winners then go forward representing the Rotary Club at the District Final.

Young Musician and Vocalist

An annual competition which is open to all young people up to the age of 17. We have a great partnership with our local High School who take part in our Club round, the winners of the competition then go forward to City Area rounds and District Finals.

Young Chef

The competition is for contestants to prepare and cook a 2-course meal for 2 people within a prescribed budget and timescale. This competition is a UK competition, there are Club rounds, Area rounds and District Finals. The National Final is organised by RGB&I and is sponsored by Filippo Berio.

Young Artist

An Art competition for S1-S3, S4-S6 pupils.  There is an annual theme, winners of Club rounds go forward to District Final. The winner’s artwork is displayed at the District Conference.

A few Members of our Club assist and support many initiatives with the Staff at our local High School, helping them with interview techniques, visit to local businesses, preparing CVs and Environmental projects.
