The Rotary Club of Oswestry and Cambrian are proud to participate in the LendWithCare initiative.

Administered by Care International, the Lend With Care initiative is operational in over one hundred of the poorest countries around the world.

Providing the framework for groups and individuals to microfinance entrepreneurs and groups in some of the most deprived areas of the world.

Seen as a hand up, not a hand out, the scheme aims to help start-up businesses access low-cost finance. Also providing financial education and advocacy to the financially disadvantaged in some of the world's poorest communities.

Our club has been participating in this program for several years. Administered by Rotarian Ron Pugh, regular updates of the club's commitments are reported at our business meetings.

The club was recently notified that 138 loans, worth £6,485, have been made.  This has directly helped 433 entrepreneurs, creating a total of 310 jobs. The impact of this is considerable, with 2500 family members benefiting indirectly.

LendWithCare is a fantastic idea. Our club tends to support female entrepreneurs. Figures show that females are impacted more by discrimination and poverty.
